The closest thing Jake got to a pet was the stray cats and dogs in the neighborhood. And he was grateful for them, he liked being around them as a child.

Though he didn't live in Edonia anymore, and lived in a much nicer city with you, he would go back to his neighborhood, and his old house, just to see the stray animals that still lingered. All of them much older, but still knowing eventually, he'd be there to feed them if they stayed there.

You went with him one day, and then you just asked why he didn't take them. He thought about the question. Why didn't he? You didn't care, you had the space... Huh.

So the next week, after doing some buying and setting up together, he went back and picked them all up. So now he sits in your guy's fenced backyard, wherever they're sunbathing or eating from the bowls on the porch.
