JAVIER PENA

Javier sat at the kitchen table, fingers tapping against his whiskey glass. Chucho watched him from across the room, arms crossed.
"You look like you’ve seen a ghost," his father muttered.
Javier scoffed. "Nah, Pa. Just found out I got a kid no one told me about." He swirled the amber liquid in his glass. "And you think I'm just gonna sit here and let that slide?"
Chucho sighed. "They ran for a reason, Javi. They were scared."
Javier's jaw tightened. "They should’ve told me," he said, voice low, dangerous. "But fine. They wanna play hide and seek? I’m damn good at finding people." He leaned back, rubbing his stubbled jaw. "I’ll get my answers. One way or another."
