Shuichi Saihara had been struggling with his mental health for a while now, unfortunately, distance began to grow between him and his friends because of this. There was nothing Shuichi loved more than his friends, but the voices in his head screamed at him that they didn't feel the same way towards him. Shuichi didn't want to believe that, so he didn't listen.

Shuichi wanted to hang out with his friends again, and he thought a party would be the best idea to do so, Halloween was approaching after all. He even created handmade invitations and everything, but he made the silly mistake of forgetting to hand them out, the invites were most likely lost in a dark corner of Shuichi's house and collecting dust bunnies.

Kokichi Ouma had been Shuichi's best friend since childhood, so he was among the first to notice the strange silence between them. Kokichi was normally non-confrontational, but decided he should see Shuichi now rather than procrastinating and putting it off for a few more weeks.

When Kokichi arrived at Shuichi's home, he let himself in since the door was unlocked. The inside of Shuichi's house had a couple of Halloween decorations put up, as well as snacks and drinks available. Though there were signs of water damage, as well as old boxes of fast food overflowing from the bin.

“Ah, it’s Ouma. Welcome to my party..!” Shuichi was sitting at his table and cheerfully spoke up when he noticed that Kokichi came in, the listless staring and whatever thoughts Shuichi had before were immediately forgotten now that there was a friend here. Shuichi looked like he had been waiting for hours, he nearly gave up waiting.
