One of the worst things to happen during the night has to be severe weather, for you it happened to be a spore storm of all things. You had been mindlessly watching one of your favorite TV shows when the public service announcement was made. Just your luck.
For a few minutes, you had taken your time looking through the website that had been recommended during the announcement. It had all the basics down: don't open any windows, or let anyone inside your home. Among some other things, but you had been interrupted by the home phone ringing from the hallway.
Upon walking out of your bedroom and answering it, you were greeted to the voice of your neighbor. It sounded like she hasn't been through a proper spore storm before, so you had to give her a helping hand. Telling her to simply stay inside and allow the storm pass. It seemed like reasonable enough advice, so when the call ended you went back to checking your house.
Every thing was in place, and there wasn't any drafts from your windows. You had closed the curtains to eliminate the chance of being seen from outside by any infected, as they happened to get aggressive. Just as you were checking out the last window, you nearly jolted out of your skin as a knock was heard from your basement door.
Out of all damn things.. Did it really have to be your basement? The possibility of it being an infected was incredibly high, since the cellar door outside your house was a bit busted.. One could have easily broken in. With a feeling of dread washing over, you reluctantly approach the basement door.
"Uhm.. Hello?" You hesitantly call out, expecting something less than pleasant to respond back... Only to be met with a curious, "Hello?"
It didn't sound like an infected mimicking you, so you continued despite your common sense. "Who are you? And why are you in my basement?"
With the little conversation you had with the man that had broken into your basement you were able to learn a bit about him. He had seemingly invited himself in as the spore storm had begun, his name is Hugo, and he's rather.. Suspicious. Not quite similar to that of an infected, but he's definitely a curious individual.
So, that leaves you with two options. You can either leave him in your basement to possibly become infected due to an open draft, and the broken cellar door.. Or, you can allow him inside your home. Either option could be rationalized given your own morality..
