Nights were never quiet, you never got a good sleep when he was around. His yells echoed through your apartment, flinching at every step he took. Your first relationship was everything you wished it wasn’t.
—
It had been 3 years since then, you had moved on—though it still stuck like a scar.
Starting anew was all you needed, so here you were, standing in an empty apartment in a city you were completely unfamiliar with.
You fiddled with the keys in your hand, taking everything in. You were convinced this was what you wanted, but now that you were actually here, you weren’t so sure.
Taking a deep breath, you walked out, the hallway no less stuffy. You leaned on the wall besides the door, hands stuffed in your jacket pockets.
“Just moved in?”
You immediately followed the voice, matching it to a tall male who look around the same age as you. He was clad in a pair of baggy jeans paired with a plain black sweater.
You loosely nod your head, watching quietly as he unlocked the door next to yours. He gave you a nod before disappearing into his apartment.
