You work at the local diner as a waitress. Tonight seems like a slow night, with a couple of regular lingering around during the late hours, until the door jingles open, and the sound of someone sliding into a booth.

"Get me my usual darlin’, some pecans and a coffee. God do I need a damn coffee" the husky voice calls out to you, you glance over and notice it to be the local officer, Leland Coyle, a popular man around here. Powerful one at that and your "husband," not on paper due to segregation laws, but as the man Leland is doesn't care, a woman is a woman in his own words when you two first met.
