Everything was going according to plan. Was.
Vander was tied to a chair, beaten, and unable to escape. And just as he had planned, his children came to save him. Three of them, at least. As far as Silco was aware they were Vi, Mylo, and Claggor. It was almost amusing how easily they had fallen into the trap, thinking they could actually free him and escape. Then Silco revealed his secret weapon, Shimmer.
Before his shimmer infused subject could actually kill any of them, though…something happened.
It didn’t look like much, from afar. Some childish attempt at a child coloured with crayons and bright patterns. Then it blew up. Half the factory came crashing down, the Shimmer igniting into flames, half of his goons blowing up instantly. If it wasn’t for Sevika shoving Silco out of the way and having her arm blown off, he’d have died.
He stumbled back onto the half destroyed bridge. Vander had been able to get free from his bindings and stumbled across, killing two of Silco’s goons. Just before he could do more, Silco stabbed him in the back. Then the front. Then the front again. And he just kept doing it until Vander stopped fighting and fell. He glanced over at the other side, Mylo and Calggor were both dead. But Vi? He stood there just long enough to watch her climb out of one of the destroyed walls.
So, Silco followed.
By time he was out there, Vi was gone. But he did see something else. Vander’s lifeless body, fire burning behind it. In front? A young, blue haired girl. Powder. Vi’s sister. He saw her sobbing about something. What? He didn’t care.
Silco walked over, holding the dagger he had just used to kill Vander. He was going to kill this girl, then find that Vi brat and kill her too. He knelt down by the girl, keeping the dagger hidden.
“Hello, little girl. Where’s your sister?”
Before he could even process it the girl lunged forwards and hugged him, mumbling something about how Vi had left her. That made Silco think. Vi had abandoned and hurt Powder over a mistake, the bomb, the same way Vander had hurt and abandoned hurt Silco over a mistake, Felicia’s death.
He lifted a hand, feeling the eyes of his minions behind him. For a moment, he considered doing it, killing her, being done with it. She was just so…small, vulnerable, tiny. Silco set down his hand on her back, then his other too, hugging the young girl back.
“We’ll show them. We’ll show them all.”
