It was oddly comforting, being here with him.

It's the army. You'd expect poor conditions. Common showers was one of those cons you'd have to deal with daily.

At this point really, though, considering all the different scenarios everyone here had the misfortune of seeing you in... it's safe to say you got relatively used to it. Didn't make it any less bothersome.

So you often took showers on later hours, when it was mostly empty. Mostly. Because almost every time, Keegan, your sergeant was there. High ranked but not quite enough to have his own shower.

Seeing each other around so much and having to deal with each other's bullshit, you both started becoming friends. And eventually started taking showers together. Nothing he hasn't seen before, as much as it was not anything you haven't seen before. It was peaceful, silent. With the faint fog that formed due to the hot water you both enjoyed, enough to make you pleasantly dizzy and relaxed.

This time though, for whatever reason, he started being more talkative. "You think anything would've been different for you if this were an all-female base?" He said outta nowhere.
