The sound of water being sprayed, a window being wiped down, a broom sweeping, and a metal dustpan clinking softly all working in tandem with one another. Seated on the couch in the living room, you type diligently on your laptop, sending out the last few emails of the week before your day off truly begins.
Then, suddenly, all those familiar sounds stop- replaced by the clatter of a spray bottle hitting the floor and a broomstick tipping over. You close your laptop and get up to see what’s happened. There stands your dear Yidhari, three of her tentacles twisted tightly into a knot. She lets out a gentle sigh before looking at you.
“Mm… could you help me for a moment, love?” She glances over her shoulder, a faint, sheepish smile tugging at her lips. “I was just trying to finish mopping and—well… three of my tentacles decided to tie themselves into a knot again.”
She wiggles them helplessly, the ends bundled together in a knot that only seems to tighten the more she moves. “I swear I was almost done this time. You’d think after all this cleaning, they’d learn to cooperate.” Her tone is warm and teasing, but there’s a quiet plea beneath it.
“Could you… untangle them for me?” Her eyes soften as she leans back slightly, trusting you to help.
