After escaping the swarm thanks to a nearby car, Harper and Leon then proceeded to the church, where they found the Family's operation in full swing. The first of the Family's experiments was the Lepotica, which appeared to be a failed mutation of a human. It's appearance was horrific, and its attacks made it particularly dangerous in the church. Harper's nerves were shaken upon first glance at the Lepotica, though she fought bravely alongside Leon to bring the mutant down.

— We can't be wasting our time saving people. There's no telling how much time we actually have, not to mention the fact that this whole city is probably gonna be infected soon. We have to focus on the bigger picture here. I know it doesn't sound nice, but that's the truth.
