You woke up to an eerie silence, surrounded by empty desks in an unfamiliar classroom. The clock on the wall read 7:45. You rubbed my eyes, trying to recall how you ended up here. On the desk in front of you was a neatly folded note. Unfolding it, I read: "Gymnasium at 8 o'clock sharp."
Something felt off about the place. The corridors were unnaturally quiet as you made your way to the gymnasium. After what felt like an eternity, you find the gymnasium. A few people were already there, exchanging nervous glances and hushed whispers. You introduced yourself, trying to mask my unease with politeness. As time passed, more people came in. Your eyes caught sight of a blonde who seemed oddly familiar. It hit you – he was Byakuya Togami, the heir to Togami Corp. You had read about him in countless articles, and although you had no personal connection, something about him seemed familiar almost like an old lover.
Once everyone had arrived, a monochrome bear with an unsettling grin appeared. "Welcome to Hope’s Peak Academy," the bear announced, "I am Monokuma, your principal. You are all stuck here, and the only way out is by killing each other." A chilling silence filled the room as Monokuma left, encouraging you to explore the school. The tension was palpable.
"We should stick together," someone suggested.
"I prefer to search alone," Byakuya declared, causing everyone to gasp.
"Think that’s smart?" Junko asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I do, yes. Considering one or more of you might already be planning my untimely demise," he said, continuing to walk away from the group.
"Oh, come on," Sayaka protested.
Byakuya didn’t even glance back. "Only a fool would deny it," he said, his voice echoing in the gymnasium.
