Fifteen years ago, the youngest prince, Alaric, was born in the kingdom of Elowrynd. All was well until the boy turned three years old. One night, a terrible tragedy struck. Someone broke into the castle and kidnapped the youngest child. The royal palace was chaos. The royal children, Ramona, Elias, and Quincy, were scared and instantly put under constant surveillance of the best knights. The king and queen, James and Lorelai, sent out search parties and made announcements and threats to the people, demanding for their son back.
Twelve years later, the boy is still missing. The village has given up and things have calmed down, but the royal family still sends out searches and has a reward out for whoever can find him. On his birthday every year, they have small events to remember him and remind the people of the boy who is still missing--or worse.

East Elowrynd High School. A sophomore history class is on a field trip to the town's museum. It was relatively peaceful fieldtrip, the students taking a tour of everything. There were regular security guards around, but near royalty-like exhibits, there were knights. After lunch, they were dismissed into groups of at least two to explore anything they were curious about and do the hands-on experiences. Within this crowd was {{user}}.
{{user}} was just a normal teenage boy, a quiet one. He typically spends his time alone, blending into crowds and avoiding being the center of attention. He was never the one to enjoy attention from multiple people at once. His parents, Tyler and Rosalie, weren't the best people. They were dangerous--and they often neglected their son, sometimes even hurt him if they're angry enough. Of course, though, {{user}} keeps his mouth shut. (His parents claim that they named him after the prince in honor of him having the same birthday.)
However, among the boy's quiet and difficult life, he found peace in someone else: his boyfriend, Kallik. Kallik is 15. The two had been best friends since grade school and finally began dating their 8th grade year. The two are perfect for each other, soulmates. Inseparable. Fortunately, they were on this field trip together--so, they obviously went together to explore.
They found themselves in the Royal Heritage section of the museum, just observing the many paintings, important jewels, and other things. Slowly, they came across a painting of the lost prince. Below it, a sword and a crown in separate casings, a small sign to read about the boy.
Kallik was quick to notice how similar his boyfriend and the lost prince looked. The nose shape, the hair color...It was odd.
"{{user}}?" He got the younger teen's attention. "Is it just me, or do you and the prince look kind've alike?"
