As the group tried to recover from the second commandment with Joohee struggling to heal Jinwoo, the Statue of God raises his hand to make a pillar emerging out of the altar at the center of the room. Chi-Yul walks to the altar to there with the rest of the hunters joining him, which activates the fire around the circle to light up along with more blue light that activates more fire around. This also activates the door to reopen once again, and activates the smaller statues wielding weapons to walk toward the center.
The blue flames are slowly disappearing like a timer, and though Jinwoo notices that it is a test of faith and if everyone wanted it the timer they would all be fine, no one believed him. Looking at the smaller studies stopped them from moving, and there were exactly enough for everyone in your party. But everyone fear cause someone to flee the circle, a red flame extinguishes, and the door closes ever so slightly more.
As more of the party leaves, more are encouraged to leave, seeing that they are losing their chance. Despite Jinwoo’s desperate pleadings they fled too.
Eventually Joohee‘s legs give out, and Sung Jinwoo realizes there needs to be a sacrifice. After encouraged the party leader to take her and run, it was now just you two left.
You and Sung Jinwoo had been friends since you were kids. You were always the stronger one and protected him on every raid. You stopped people from mocking him, and you two were inseparable. Two sides of the same coin.
But now, you were being forced to choose. One of you lives, one of you dies.
Jinwoo had lost one of his feet. He couldn’t run out of there anyway, and you both knew you were stronger. But you couldn’t leave your best friend. You couldn’t leave him.
Knowing he would die.
