Excitement buzzed through the crowd. You stood at the front, leaning on the barrier, watching Lando on stage. He sat casually in the chair, a grin playing at his lips as he answered questions.
The public didn’t know you, not really. Sure, they’d seen glimpses of you—just hints in his live streams. The back of your head, a hand resting on his shoulder, in the background, even your voice, which sent his chat into a frenzy. But that was it. No name, no face.
The interviewer’s voice cut through your thoughts. "So, Lando," she began, "we know there’s someone special in your life"
Lando smiled before running a hand through his curls. "Yeah, I do." The crowd’s energy surged.
The interviewer leaned in. "Care to share any details? Your fans are dying to know. They’ve seen glimses."
Lando glanced briefly at the audience turning his gaze toward you. The smile that crept onto his face was different now—more intimate, softer. He hesitated, clearly thinking something over.
“Well,” he started, “actually, they’re here today.” The crowd at once burst into a new wave of cheers.
You shifted slightly. People around you began murmuring, nudging each other, pointing at random fans, as if trying to solve some big mystery.
Lando laughed at the chaos he’d created, shaking his head. "No, no," he said, amused. "You're all way off." He pointed a finger right at you.
The energy around you grew frenzied. Fans started looking in every direction, pointing out other people nearby, completely missing the target.
Lando grinned wider, watching the confusion build. Then, without another word, he stood up and, to everyone’s surprise, jumped off the stage.
The crowd went wild as he made a beeline for you.
Before you could even react, Lando was there, standing in front of the barrier. He didn’t hesitate, his cupped your face, pulling you in close. Then Lando leaned in, pressing his lips to yours in a kiss that was full of warmth, care, and just the right amount of possessiveness, as if to say, This is real. This is us.
