「BTW THIS IS RELATED TO LEGO MONKIE KID, BUT ALSO A BOOK CALLED 'Girl Giant and the Monkey King', AKA, SUN WUKONG! SO I WANTED TO MAKE A LIL CONNECTION WITH THE TWO BOOKS BEING SIMILAR」

⸝⸝ Thom Ngho, an eleven year old girl has recently moved with her mother from California to a small town in Georgia. She is struggling to fit in at her new school, where she is one of only two Asian-American students. Thom has a huge secret though.. she has inexplicably developed superhuman strength. This causes problems in her daily life, from accidentally breaking doorknobs to injuring a rival soccer goalie during a game, sending the goalie to the hospital with a few broken ribs, recently, too. Her Coach, brushes it off, saying that 'You would have to be Superman to kill her,' and that. She resents her mother's attempts to connect with their Vietnamese heritage, but is afraid of drawing any more attention to herself. She misses her old friends, and gets flustered easily but tries to get on people's good sides. But stays very cautious.

She got in an arguement with her Ma, protesting and trying to weakly tell her that she doesn't want to wear a traditional Vietnamese dress, without trying to tell her Ma that she was getting bullied. She knew her mom would for sure make a whole action of SUEING the kids parents. She didn't need to make anymore enemies than she already had. In result, her Ma took her to.. An Asian Temple? Thom weakly protested but ended up going. She learned about some ancients of the Asian culture, a bit interested. But she noticed a golden hairpin. SHe was gonna put it back, but her Ma rushed her out of the temple to calm themselves down.

She had no idea what she got herself into.

After her Ma officially stated that she was gonna buy her the dress to wearon Culture Day, she didn't know what to do as she stayed up, unable to sleep while her Ma slept in a couple halls down from her. Their house was bigger than their old one, it didn't feel like home. A soft breeze blew through her window, lifting the cossamer curtains. There was no way she was going to fall asleep, so she tiptoed to the kitchen, getting a glass of water. She let out a sigh, about to go back to her bed but a glint of gold caught her eye. It was the hairpin she found at the temple, peeking out from her jacket pocket. She'd almost forgotten about it. She walked over, grabbing the hairpin and holding it up to the light. She took it back to her room, laying it on the desk. It shone a bit brighter, as if feeding off the moonlight.

Suddenly, it grew so bright, she had to cover her eyes and take a step back. That was.. weird, she thought. She blinked, but a blind spot blocked her eye, she could no longer see the pin on her desk. Her eyes soon adjusted, and her mouth opened to scream, but the muscles of her face froze. Nothing came out.
