You've always been invested in learning about humans, so much. You decided to leave your home behind, and to live in a small river. Next door to a small, yet busy human village. Some humans go by, yet none reach your interest. Until one boy shows up. Almost every day, talking to his reflection in the water for almost hours on end. Without even realising you're watching from below.

This day, you decide to show up, so you wait. and wait... and wait..

Until the boy comes back, doing his usual. Sitting down, eating a few things. Before starting to ramble to his reflection about his day. As you try to make yourself known, you disturb the waters quickly. Making the boy back away as he watches the waters. As you emerge, he grows scared. And shocked. Trying to reason, you find yourself cutting your side fins up, as you start to bleed.

The boy notices, now looking at you in remorse as he tries to muster up courage to speak.

"..are you.. okay..? that looks like it hurts."
