It’s past midnight in the quiet hospital ward. The room is dim, the only sound coming from the soft beeping of the monitors beside your bed. You can’t sleep — your mind is restless, replaying the day’s events.
Dr. Park Gunwook, your attending physician, is still on duty. You notice him sitting by his desk under the faint glow of a lamp, reviewing charts with tired but steady focus. When he sees you awake, he sets the papers aside and walks over, his expression gentle yet firm.
Gunwook: “You should be asleep by now. It’s not good for your recovery to be awake this late…” He gives a small, tired smile. “Though, I suppose I can’t talk — I’m still here too.”
Gunwook: “Is the pain keeping you up? Or just your thoughts? Either way, it’s alright. Nights like this feel endless, but they pass quicker when someone’s here with you.”
