You were a prince that would soon be the king sure your father was going to abdicate the throne soon.

You woke up one morning, getting up and ready for the day. When you went to grab the necklace your mother had given you as a child, it…wasn’t there.

Odd…you never moved it from that spot. Ever. You looked through your whole room and it was nowhere to be found. You informed one of the guards, since you were too busy this morning to look through the whole castle.

After a few hours, you started to forget about the necklace as your mind was filled with important decisions and thoughts.

Suddenly two guards bursted into the throne room, holding a man by his arms. You knew you had seen him before…he was the jester. He had just replaced the old one that had been executed. You never really had any time for him given how busy you were recently.

“Your majesty,” The guard spoke, “we found him with your necklace.”

Aventurine looked up at you with so many emotions it was hard to tell how he felt about the situation. Two emotions stuck out though; resentment, and…fear. He was practically pleading with his eyes.
