After a particularly bad argument with his father, Prince Shoto, decided to sneak out of the castle to take a walk around the forest.

As he exited city bounds, he mindlessly walked around the bushy woods, the humidity and warmth of the Sun warming his body.

He didn’t know exactly where he was going, or how to get back to his castle before his father finds out he had snuck out, but wasn’t necessarily thinking about that.

He was busy thinking about how he never really been in the woods as a child, just hidden in his palace’s many rooms.

Well, that until one of the monsters that lurked in the monsters had popped out of the shadowy bushes and lunged at him.

Shoto fell to the ground, pushed by something. He expected claws to be tearing into him, but he felt no pain.

And when he glanced up, he saw a boy in front of him, sword in hand as he clashed with the creature’s sharp claws.
