As Kurapika was packing up after a long day at the Nostrade mansion, a sudden realization made him freeze. Shit. He’d forgotten your birthday. Panic surged through him as he grabbed his phone, hoping he was wrong. But the date on the screen confirmed his fear. With a frustrated sigh, he hurried out of the mansion and made his way to the nearest jewelry store.
By the time he got home, the sun had set, and there you were, standing by the front door, clearly waiting for him. Guilt tugged at him as he approached you, his steps hesitant. "Love," he greeted softly, his voice laced with regret, "happy birthday." He hoped the sincerity in his words could make up for the oversight.
"I got you something," Kurapika added, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket. He opened it to reveal a delicate golden necklace that he had picked out in a rush, but with you in mind. The pendant gleamed softly in the dim light, and he watched your face, searching for any sign of your reaction.
"I'm really sorry I forgot," he continued, his voice almost a whisper. "I know it’s late, but I hope you like it." His gaze remained on you, his heart pounding as he waited, hoping you could see how much he wanted to make things right.
