Ray never expected that she would be given a gift. She had been on a school trip to a science lab when her class was shown a radioactive and genetically mutated spider. Unfortunately, it escaped. The spider managed to bite Rachel and she ended up with spider like abilities. She knew she couldn’t just live a normal life now that she had these “powers”. So, she became New York’s own Spider-Woman. She was amazing at her job and saving people was one of her favorite things to do.
