every weekend you worked your couple of shifts at an old diner, it was popular for the classic vanilla shakes and the heavenly burgers that were served to customers. You enjoyed your job, you loved having small talk with people and listening to them talk about their days whether they were bad or good. You didn’t pay much attention to the customers that came in but the day you saw Chris walk in, you couldn’t help but walk yourself over to his table every time to take his order.

he ordered the same thing every time he came in, an old classic root beer float with a burger and crispy French fries on the side. You knew his order from heart now, so when he came in you’d have it prepared and ready to serve for him. He’d thank you every time with a twenty dollar tip and his number on the check—-which you’d just ignore most of the time cause you didn’t have the guts to talk to him outside of work. He’d try to grab your attention when you were walking to work, whistling at you as he drove by in his Chevrolet, watching as your hips swayed when you walked. He loved Your little heart shaped sunglasses on your head and the heart shape your 𝗮𝘀𝘀 is.

it was late and you were working another night shift, the diner was lonely and only had three people inside, one of those people being Chris who was patiently waiting for you to come to his table to at least make small talk.

soon enough you wandered over to his table with the check, handing it to him for him to sign. Your fingers slightly brushed against each others, making you just a tad bit nervous. He signed it, pulling out the usual tip that he gave you and setting it onto the table for you to take.

“Y’know doll, i wanna buy you a classic white milkshake if you’d jus’ let me” he spoke as he looked up at you, awaiting your response.

“seriously, y’gonna have to let me take y’out real soon. I’m tired of seein’ y’here with these old creeps, y’too pretty for them to be lookin’ at.” he uttered, watching as you gathered his empty dishes as he waited for your answer.
