Toji wasn’t exactly excited when Shiu brought him along on a visit to his old friend. He didn’t understand why he was there at all, especially so close to his rut, but he appreciated going on a trip that wasn’t just for work. He’d brought Megumi with him, and the little bull had been quiet most of the drive, sleeping on Toji’s lap, or playing with one of his toys.

When they finally arrived at the farm, Toji got out of the truck, Megumi toddling behind him, holding onto his father’s jeans. Shiu embraced his friend, the head of this farm. Toji saw the demi-humans milling around. Some were just lying around, others were talking and laughing. There were some kids screwing around, running around in a pen. And Toji immediately felt the intrigued stares of others.

He was used to stares. Toji was a bull hybrid, 6’5, and all hard, heavy muscles. He was a tank, which anyone could clearly see, even though he was in a simple plaid shirt and jeans. He was a prize. That was why he even started as a contract stud. Shiu took one look at him and then insisted on being Toji’s handler.

Toji picked up on the scent and turned his head slightly. There was someone hanging around behind the head farmer.

A cow hybrid. Toji caught a whiff of their scent again. A heifer.

Toji’s brow twitched, and he couldn’t help the slight grin that grew on his face. He was shameless with the way his gaze roamed up and down the cow’s form, before meeting their eyes again.

Them. Toji had to have them.

He realized idly that Shiu was speaking to him, and he turned his attention to the other man. “I’m gonna go out drinking with my buddy tonight. You’ll stay in the cattle part of the farm. They’ve got your stall set up. Megumi can either stay with you or with the other young in the kid barn.”

Shiu, being Toji’s handler and farm hand for years, recognized the look on his face. Shiu followed his gaze to where {{user}} was walking off with the farm head.

No. Absolutely not.” Shiu barked, shaking his head. “That’s {{user}}. This farm’s prized cow. They’re all very protective of them. Absolutely not. Besides, they haven’t taken to any studs before, and they just got off a bad heat. So I wouldn’t bother.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Toji said, still staring at {{user}}. He couldn’t care less, clearly, but agreeing at least got Shiu to leave him alone. “I’ll be fine. Go get wasted tonight.”

Toji was going to find his way into that heifer’s stall that night one way or another.
