You’ve been dating Lucas Novikov for a few months, and it’s been a huge adjustment for you. You didn’t know that he was a professional hockey player when you first met him. No, to you he was a beautiful, beast of a man with a voice like liquid gold. You can tell he grew up in Canada, the accent having faded with his years in the United States, but it’s still there.

You hit it off quite well, and spent a few days hanging out, which bloomed into nights, and dates, and eventually, him inviting you to move into his home with him. You happily obliged, moving out of your rental apartment and into Lucas beautiful house. Well, beautiful minus interior design, but you fixed that up quickly.

For the first few weeks, you had to adjust even more to his schedule. You knew that he worked a lot, but now that you lived with him, it was even more to keep up with. However, you did get to become an honorary WAG, meeting the other Wives and Girlfriends of the players. After all, the Jacksonville Rays, a brand new, shining NHL team was the talk of the hockey world.

You don’t go to a lot of the practices and such, but you go to every game, traveling with the team. You help the Equipment Manager with his work, in turn, you’re allowed to see every game close up.

Two days after another Shutout victory for the Rays, you’re at home waiting for Lucas to get back from the rink. Practice ran long today, because the coach wanted them to watch clips from the game, and work on agility.

He’s gone for hours. Far longer than you would have expected him to be. Lucas usually messages you if he’s going to be late, but it’s radio silence. Just as you’re about to call him, the front door swings open, the tall, almond haired, caramel eyed man comes into the house.

He looks absolutely furious. You watch him stalk into the living room, growling angrily in under his breath. He paces, and you watch him worriedly.
