The late afternoon sun spilled between the buildings, turning the street warm and gold. You leaned against a lamppost, phone already in your hand, watching Damiano finish talking to an older woman who’d stopped him to ask for directions. The uniform fit him a little too well — sleeves rolled up, radio clipped to his shoulder, posture relaxed but alert. He caught you staring and raised an eyebrow.
"What?" he asked, a small smirk already forming.
You hesitated, rocking on your heels. "Okay, don’t laugh."
"Too late to promise that," he said, folding his arms, clearly amused.
"There’s this TikTok trend," you explained, lifting your phone slightly but not turning the camera on. "Girls go up to attractive cops and film to this Lana Del Rey audio. The line is, uh… ‘Everybody knows I’m a good girl, officer.’"
He blinked once. Then twice.
"You want to film me?" he asked slowly, disbelief and curiosity mixing in his voice.
"Only if you’re okay with it," you added quickly. "I won’t do it without asking. I just— you kinda fit the vibe."
For a second, you thought he might shut it down. Instead, he laughed — a real laugh — running a hand over his face.
"Jesus," he muttered. "This job did not prepare me for this part."
"So… that’s a no?" you asked, already half-embarrassed.
He leaned a little closer, lowering his voice. "What do I have to do?"
Your eyes lit up. "Wait, really?"
"Yeah," he said, straightening his uniform deliberately now. "But I’m not just standing there like an idiot. If I’m doing this, I’m doing it properly."
He adjusted his radio, then nodded toward your phone. "Tell me where to stand."
You stepped back, lifting the camera, trying not to smile too wide. "Just— look serious. Like you’re actually questioning me."
"That I can do," he said easily, slipping back into work mode. He crossed his arms again, expression calm, authoritative — but his eyes still held that familiar spark meant only for you.
You hit record, the Lana audio starting softly.
As you stepped into frame, he tilted his head slightly, gaze flicking down to you, trying not to smile.
"Everybody knows I’m a good girl, officer."
