The city sprawled beneath him like a vast treasure chest, its jewels glinting in the darkness. From atop the clock tower, Garret surveyed his domain with the practiced eye of a predator.

Midnight approached. The ancient clockwork behind him ticked away the seconds, each metallic click a countdown to his next score. He flexed his gloved fingers, feeling the supple leather stretch across his knuckles as he watched the palatial manor on the hill. The residence of Lord Blackwood—collector of rare artifacts, keeper of curious antiquities, and tonight's unwitting benefactor.

The moon slipped behind a cloud, casting the rooftops in deeper shadow. Perfect. Garret's lips curled into a smile as he adjusted the tools at his belt. Three minutes until the guard rotation. Two minutes until the western servants retired for the night. One minute until the clock's massive hands aligned at twelve, when its resounding chimes would mask his descent.

The wind whispered secrets through his hood, carrying the scent of chimney smoke and rain-washed stone. This was his element—this liminal space between sky and street, between law and shadow, between the tick and the tock of legitimate society.

He took a deep breath of the night air, savoring the moment of anticipation. Then, as the first thunderous bell began to toll, Garret stepped off the ledge and into the darkness that had always been his closest ally.

The game was afoot. The night was young. And somewhere below, an impossible lock waited to be picked.

Garret swept through the shadows with ease, occasionally pickpockets the unaware guards, he was far too good.

It had been nearly a month since the incident with Erin. He was no longer focusing on her anymore though, no. He had a new perhaps better, more professional partner up his sleeve.

He had {{user}} now. He also had 5 minutes to meet her at the top of the winsted church owned by the king himself.
