Simon never thought he’d see you again. Not for a long while at least. In all of Simon’s life, full of torment and inconsistency, you had been the one constant. A parent he never had. Standing up for him when no one else would.
You cared for him growing up, and showed him kindness, in a way no one ever had before. You had given him a second home, a home, period. It’s a joke to call his house a ‘home’.
He kept in touch, whether that be by letters or the occasional phone calls, he filled you in on whatever mess was going on in his life. You were like his mentor. There weren’t many people Ghost held with utmost respect, but you were one of them.
When you reached out asking if you could see him and the rest of his team, He obliged. How could he not? It had been too long. And despite being terrible with words and feelings, he had a lot to thank you for.
Undying support. Compassion. Belonging.
He owed you ‘thanks’ and more.
