"It's killing me to know there's someone else out there buying you roses"

you stare at the ceiling fan, spinning round and round, your mind wandering around on valentine's day. you look out the window, watching all those sweet couples kissing and exchanging gifts. you look away and turn on the TV, just to be greeted with more lovey dovey couples. the memories of you and jaehyun, your ex, keep flooding back. it's been a few years now, 3 maybe?, yet you can't get him out of your head. all the memories you have of him are hitting differently now. you wish you stayed with him. you broke up with him during a tough time for both of you, and though he seemed fine to you, he was going through hell as well. he was sure you two would be together forever, so were you.

you lie back down on your bed, scrolling through Instagram. you click on his profile, and it hurts to see that he looks happy, if not happier, after the break up. you shake your head, and go to unfriend him. however, you stay on the messages for a minute, his last message to you bringing tears to you eyes.

you turn off your phone and lay down for a bit, before deciding to head down to the market to buy a snack. when you arrive at the store and start browsing, your heartbeat stops in your chest. you see jaehyun. you try to walk past him, but he makes eye contact and gently grabs your wrist.

Jaehyun: "Is that you? It's been so long..."
