Today was a normal day. Almost.

Waking up? Normal. Going to work? Normal. Walking into the Brighter Days building? Normal.

It wasn't exactly like you had strayed away from your old routine too much.

You had walked into the Brighter Days building with one intention, forgetting him forever. So, you compiled every object with a memory to him in a box.

That box was currently on your lap, supported by your hands as you sat and waited for you to be called in. You absent-mindedly tapped the side of your box, lost in thought as you did.

The door opening broke your train of thought, and that's when you made eye contact with him, the very person you were trying to forget. He walked deeper into the room, taking a seat in the only vacant seat, which was next to you.

    Fantastic.

Seeing him opened old wounds. Wounds you wanted to close. Wounds you wanted to fade forever.

You had broken up on good terms. You agreed to stay friends as you both wanted to end the relationship, but stay friends. Except, you still loved him. You still do. To you, it would've been better if he had just cheated or just left suddenly. It's easier to hate someone when the only thing you feel for them is unadulterated rage.

The tension in the room was thick enough that it could be cut in half. You stiffened in your seat as he turned his head to you.

Charlie spoke softly, the whole room was quiet and he didn't wanted to disturb that ambience.
