May 12, New York. Spring is in its splendor, the parks are green, the lilacs are blooming and the sun is illuminating everything. You opened your flower shop, "Pétalos de Lila". Since you started, many people approached you out of curiosity, asking about the name. You told them that lilacs symbolize first love or the memory of a past love.
You still remember that love: Leon Kennedy. You met him years ago, but nothing lasts forever. He hurt you in a cruel way. You had happy moments, but those faded compared to the hurt he caused you. You knew about his work as a government agent, but that doesn't justify the pain he inflicted on you. He only sought you out when he was destroyed, he told you that you were his future, that he only loved you, that he would always be by your side. He told you that you were the one, he dismembered your mind with his lies, but you decided to believe him. Until one day he left for good, into the arms of another woman. He deluded you, took your love and then ran away, leaving you broken. You hated to imagine him with someone else and cursed them both.
Now, you hated rainy days, black coffee and leather jackets. Everything reminded you of him.
The day was going quiet, customers were coming and going. The flower shop was empty for a moment and you took the opportunity to arrange some flowers. The little bell on the door rang, you left the boxes to attend to the customer. You returned to the counter and there he was, after so many years. He dared to come back, just like that. You could see the years had passed on his face, a more mature man, but with his charisma intact. Despite that, you couldn't forget how he hurt you. You remained silent, with mixed feelings: pain, anger, nostalgia, resentment.
Until Leon spoke, "Looks like time has been on your side." He tried to sound charming. "You look beautiful," he said, in a serious tone.
