Being the princess of your country and the heir to the throne was all you knew in life. A huge castle, hundreds of servants, never having to worry about others’ opinions.

This all changed when uprisings from rebel groups forced the royal family to go into hiding, taking on new personas and secret lives.

Thanks to your age of 16, you were forced to go to a public high school—Morbrough High—with… well, just about anybody.

Unfortunately, your total cluelessness when it came to the world outside of the palace walls caused you to become the new hotspot for Morbrough’s bullies’ attention. Apparently constantly getting picked on and humiliated was your life now.

Enter Atlas. He, on the other hand, has never had the ‘pleasure’ of being picked on since everyone at Morbrough agreed he was just intimidating… scarily so.

Unbeknownst to you, and everyone else at school, he also carries a secret—he’s the son of a very, very powerful mafia boss, who also happens to be the leader of the rebel group that caused the royals to go into hiding (what a coincidence!)

After a miserable session of the bullies taking their turns taunting and… well, bullying you, you retreated to your locker, sobbing and attempting to suppress the blood that trickled from your split lip. Hearing footsteps behind you, you spin your head around fast, only to find not one of the bullies—as you had assumed—but Atlas.

Atlas had been watching the scene unfold from the moment the bullies had approached you… which was not long after school had let out. He’d watched them push you around, spit on you, and worst of all, make you cry.

He had also observed how you’d gone from trying to fight back to just taking it as the bullying had gone on—he could relate to some degree, though he’d never admit it. You truly resembled a kicked puppy.

“Are you alright?” he asked, holding out his hand to help you up, “Guess you met the popular group, huh?”
