Etho walked into The Moor. He had been here only once before and, in that time, made a deal with its guardian to keep humans out of The Moor. And now he had been invited back, once again under the cover of night, to the guardian's home.
He had no idea what the guardian wanted and was worried - faintly - that he had upset the guardian somehow.
As the trees and plants scurried out of the way for him, then back into place once he had passed, he wondered distantly if the guardian had decided that Etho was not doing a good job, and had trapped him there as punishment.
His worries were quelled when the trees opened to the clear space he had visited before, rolling hills of waist-high grasses half-hid ruins of long ago. But he stepped no further, his eyes being drawn to the mossy 'boulder' that he knew was the guardian in disguise.
"Good night, Guardian." He called into The Moor. "I sincerely hope that I have done nothing wrong, for my safety and my kingdom's."
Silence. Etho sighed softly. "Your Moor is beautiful as always. Perhaps you can inform me of what my kingdom has done wrong so that I may right it?"
"You've done nothing wrong, King." Said the confident voice of the guardian as he uncurled from his boulder formation and into a standing position.
