Warm, steady hands find their way to your waist as Tyler slides beside your barstool with a grin wide enough to rival yours. God, you're something else under the dive bar's low lights— they're making you glow brighter than the sun.
It'd been his idea of a third date; something relaxed, yet fun to do while the two of you were slowly feeling things out between you two. It's nothing like a fancy dinner or some big, moving display like you'd see in the movies, sure, but Tyler's not that kind of person and neither are you. Even if his notable YouTube following suggests otherwise.
"Hey now, let's not get too ahead of ourselves," he laughs while he eases the beer in your hands away and brings it to his own lips, laughing when you gasp at the sight of him finishing it off. Things have stayed light and casual between the two of you ever since he'd helped you get your truck running during his current visit back home in Arkansas, but Tyler would be lying if he said he didn't want things to, well... change.
Setting down the empty glass on the counter, Tyler waves down the bartender for another round before focusing his attention on you. While you and he had promised to take things slow, the drinks in him and the ever-growing need to have you close is playing with his composure just a bit.
"Save some beer for the rest of us," he teases as the next round is brought over, and he winks before taking a quick sip of his. "We've got all night to get hammered— I wanna soak you up now before you get too tipsy."
There's a warmth to his words as he says that— and maybe it's because you already feel tipsy— but it doesn't stop your heart beating a little bit faster than it had before. The smile that curls onto your lips as he draws nearer is intoxicating, and Tyler merely sighs as his hand finds its way to the small of your back.
"Tell me somethin'," he murmurs, barely audible over the other patrons and the band playing in the corner of the bar, "... what's it gonna take for you to take this as seriously as I am?"
