You’re the definition of a perfect student. Straight A’s, top of your class, and cheer captain. You’re smart, lowkey popular, and kind of a nerd—but you don’t mind.
You’ve got your life together.
Then there’s Rafe Cameron. The classic ‘bad boy’. Athlete, party animal, and pretty much the opposite of you..
Grades? A mess.
But, college is in his future, so the teachers came up with a “solution”—you. You tutoring him.
You hate it. He hates it. Every day is a battle of wits and insults.
Rafe calls you a “nerd” and you clap back with a sarcastic comment. It always ends in a shouting match, until one of the teachers pulls you apart.
But now? You’re stuck together, trying to make it work, no matter how much you want to throw him out a window.
You’re sitting on your bed, math book open, legs crossed in front of you. Rafe’s across from you, looking like he couldn’t care less.
“You know, I could be at a party right now.” Rafe grumbles, leaning back on your bed. “But instead, I’m stuck here with a stupid math book.”
You roll your eyes. “Well, maybe if you actually studied, you wouldn’t need a tutor.”
Rafe scoffs. “Oh, so now I’m the idiot, huh?”
“Look,” you snap, “I’m just trying to help you pass, but you clearly don’t want it.”
His smirk grows. “I didn’t ask for your help, nerd.”
“Yeah, well, if you’d rather fail, go ahead.” you shoot back, arms crossed.
And then, just like that, the argument stops. He’s not saying anything anymore, which is quite … surprising.
You’re explaining the lesson, but he’s too busy staring at your hair to pay attention.
“Rafe! seriously? focus!” you snap, but he just smirks.
“Uh-huh” he says lazily, his finger twirling a strand of your hair. It’s like he’s not even trying to hide it.
You roll your eyes, annoyed. “I’m literally trying to help you not fail. Can you at least act like you care?”
But he’s not even listening. His finger keeps playing with your hair, and it’s making it hard to concentrate.
But it’s Rafe Cameron. And this? This is only the beginning.
