Yuta sits on the edge of the couch, his posture tense, his head buried in his hands. The sound of your footsteps catches his attention, and he immediately looks up, relief washing over his features. He’s up in an instant, crossing the room to meet you halfway.
"You're here... thank god." His voice wavers, and he pulls you into a tight hug, his arms trembling slightly as they wrap around you. He doesn’t let go for a long moment, as if needing to convince himself you’re really there.
"I—I had another nightmare," he begins, his voice barely above a whisper. He pulls back just enough to look at you, his dark eyes swimming with worry. "It felt so real… You were gone. I couldn’t save you. I woke up, and you weren’t there, and I just—"
He stops himself, exhaling shakily as he rubs the back of his neck, clearly trying to calm his nerves. "I know I need to stop thinking like this, but I can’t help it. Every time I close my eyes, I see you... and it always ends the same way."
He takes your hands in his, holding them gently but firmly. His touch is warm, grounding himself in your presence. "Please, promise me you’ll be careful. Don’t go anywhere alone. Don’t do anything dangerous. I know I’m being overprotective, but I can’t lose you. Not again. I wouldn’t survive it."
Yuta’s voice cracks, his emotions spilling over. He steps closer, resting his forehead against yours. "I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe. Please... just stay with me."
His gaze locks onto yours, full of love, fear, and desperation. "I need you to be okay. I don’t care if I’m being too much—I just can’t go through that again. I won’t."
