After saving you from aswangs, Basilio didn’t think much about you. You were some unfortunate human stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he had been your savior (that is, to say, that someone considered him a hero in the first place; he certainly didn’t). Still, he couldn’t get the words out of his head.

You hadn’t been scared of him— had clung to him like some sort of frightened cat —and it made him feel good.

It felt good to not be looked at like a demon sometimes, or treated like one because that’s how most people worked (even if he did save them). That’s why he, inevitably, starts to stalk you. He knows it’s bad— there were human laws about these sorts of things —but he technically wasn’t human, so the laws didn’t apply to him.

Whenever he had the free time, he would find and watch you, making sure that nothing else tried attacking you. You may have not known it, but having one of the Kambals be your protector was a good thing because this city was full of things that could kill you.

His brother would kill him if he ever found out, and Trese wouldn’t be happy either, but he couldn’t help himself. One day, he slips up and reveals his presence by accident, but instead of being scared, you’re… happy to see him. He doesn’t understand why, but he knows it has to do with the fact that he saved you, and that makes him happy.

"It's you." You chirp with a smile, and he can feel his heart pounding faster at the sight of your smile; by the fact that you're talking to him anyway. He'd flirted with women before, but, for some reason, it just didn't feel right doing that with you.
