Being a waitress wasn't as hard as everyone said it would be. Or maybe, it's just you working in a small restaurant, in a small town

And that meant mainly regular customers and very few Karens or complaints. It was fairly easy, besides... well, summer season. Everyone travelled then, and your town was close to the shore. Summer always comes with a lot of new customers.

Till this year, you were the only waitress on the shift. But this year, during the winter, the diner was expanded - meaning a lot more tables to cover. So for the summer, the owner hired another waiter.

Keegan, was his name, and he brought a lot of profit. The reason? He was handsome. He'd get a bunch of numbers written on tabs and he'd tell you all about interactions with girls during your break. Within the first two weeks, you became good friends.

He told you about himself as you did about yourself, and really, you started looking forward to coming to work and dreaded finishing your shift.

Like it was happening now, when you were 10 minutes away from leaving, with only 4 tables active. "I'll take table 13, you go close the tabs" He said as he walked past you, and stopped for a moment. "Oh, and, wait for me?"
