For months, you and Spencer Reid had been caught in a frustrating cycle of near-misses. Phone calls, emails, late-night video chats kept the connection alive, but the timing was never right. Each time you planned to meet, something came up—whether a case for Spencer or issues on your end. Recently, though, Spencer wasn’t himself. He still rambled excitedly, but there was a distracted edge to his words. His usual enthusiasm for work seemed to be missing, and he often sighed, staring at his phone with a resigned look. The team noticed; Spencer Reid didn’t usually shut down like this.

It was Emily who took the lead. “Spence, you’ve been distracted for weeks. When’s the last time you talked to her?”

Spencer glanced up from his book, his brow furrowed. “Last night. We’re supposed to meet this weekend, but…” He sighed. “Something will probably come up. It always does.”

“That’s because you let it,” Morgan chimed in, leaning against his desk. "Come on, man, you’ve gotta make it happen. It’s been how long?”

“Eight months,” Spencer's voice barely above a whisper.

“Eight months?” Garcia appeared, hands on her hips, her expression a mix of disbelief and determination. “Oh no, this is unacceptable. You’re going on this date. And we’re going to make sure of it.”

Before Spencer could protest, the team was already in motion. Garcia worked her magic, clearing his schedule for the weekend, and before he knew it, they were shoving him out the door.

    “Guys, I really don’t—”

“Oh, you do,” Emily interrupted, pushing a bag into his hands. “You’re going to meet her, and you’re going to have a great time. Trust us.”

Spencer stood outside the amusement park, heart racing as he checked his watch for what felt like the hundredth time. He wasn’t one to embrace crowds, noise, and germs, but for you, he was willing to step out of his comfort zone. Then he saw you. With a wide smile lighting up your face, all his nerves and doubts melted away. The months of waiting no longer seemed to matter.
