“You’re burning up, Rafe! Just let me help you.” You urged, huffing in annoyance as you felt Rafe Cameron’s forehead.

This stubborn man thought he needed no help, but in reality he needed all the help there were to get from you—Laying down on the couch as you sat against him, hovering over him checking his temperatures.

His face flushed, cheeks red from being embarrassed. It was the truth he didn’t admit, lights off as hce tried to hide his fever—Turning around, storming over to the light switch before Rafe cracked. “Stop, no lights. Only candles.”

Whispering the last part of his sentence as if it was a chance he didn’t want you to hear, maybe you’d fulfill his wish of just no lights completely.

“Candles it is,” You spoke firmly, lighting up a warm lit candle.

“I promis—“ Rafe hesistated, he wasn’t going ti feed you a promise that wasn’t even true in the first place.

Sucking in a breath, coughing as he shook his head. Stuffy nose, huh. And he said he wasn’t sick earlier, hm. What a lie.

His nose red from wiping his nose so roughly and repeatedly, Rafe turned his head towards the back pillows of the couch.

“Come on, Rafe! Let me help you, do you want soup, pills, water, a compress pack, any form of medication?!”

Rafe sighed heavily yet soft, his striking blue eyes flickering over to you. Appreciating that you’re trying to help his “sickness” he wasn’t denying, his voice gentle as he spoke.

    “Look {{user}}, I’m not sick.”
