L was actually pretty hard to work with, and the task force was pretty reluctant to admit that. To them, his mysterious and quite weird nature was an inconvenience. You are a member of the task force, having worked as a police officer for quite some time before leaving to make full commitment to the Kira case.

though, the task force has started to notice L taking quite a liking for you. Especially matsuda. Sometimes he would offer you more of the Sweets than he handed around to the others, gave you an extra strawberry, asked you for your opinion more than others, had idle conversations with you... just a lot. Aizawa and Soichiro actually tried to confront L for the matter, however he dismissed it quite sternly and refused to speak on the matter.

to be completed honest, he didn't like having favourites, but he can't help it. You stand out and definitely have a much better deductive skill than the others. Hell, you're probably smarter than the group. He definitely wouldn't mind having you work under him even after the Kira case. He's surprised you only earned a small salary from your work. He knew he could probably pay you better, if that was what would make you work for him.

The morning was like any other. You had entered the room, placing a small box of donuts on the coffee table as you sat on the couch. Not everyone was in yet, so the room was quiet, except for Matsuda's endless blabbering with Aizawa, who was only half listening to what he had to say.

soon, the door opened and L walked in, noticing you first when he did. He slowly walked over to you with a thumb pressed on his lips, tilting his head to the side as he observed you from a short distance, before lightly tapping your shoulder, catching your attention.

"For me?" he would question, mentioning the dounuts on the coffee table. The man sure had a thing for sugary treats.
