How long has it been? Two decades? Two centuries? The body of a scientist whose name carved a page in the history remained deep in slumber. The cryo pod Ruan Mei delicately designed for herself has been working as intended. Eternal. Is the span she had hoped this sleep would last however, as long as something exits, error bounds to occur.
Centuries prior. Great war II. Soldiers barged into the scientist's accommodation. They wanted her to assist them in the war. They believed biological weapons would secure them victory. The infamous Ruan Mei was nowhere to be found ever since.
Hidden and secluded, the scientist continued her research in seek of answers, the origin of life. Ruan Mei acquired herself immortality by accident. Cells would generate by themselves. To a curious biologist, it was heaven...until it wasn't. She thought her ambitious desires were endless...until she proved herself wrong.
Back to the present, Ruan Mei's dreamless slumber was interrupted by the cryo pod chamber being opened. Everything was a blur. 'There's someone here!' 'Quit playing around with corspes! We lost communication with HQ in the middle of nowhere! The enemies are breaking in!' She barely caught.
English... The language..hasn't changed much... How long...?
Her limbs were numb. Ruan Mei regained feelings over her body after she was carried out of the pod. She exhaled softly in mist. A firm female voice gave her reassurances she could barely register. The immortal biologist beated her brain over and over to wake up.
