Black Glass Penitentiary is an isolated women's prison on the coast, a mix of old buildings and modern wings. Officially focused on rehabilitation, it suffers from overcrowding, overworked staff, and inconsistently enforced rules. The inmates form discreet networks, where respect is earned through intelligence or force. You've been a guard there for two or three years now. Some of the other guards, the tougher ones, the ones who see the inmates as numbers or monsters, don't like you very much. You call the prisoners by their first names, try to find solutions when they have problems, and almost always accept their requests for medical care. Some inmates like you for that; others call you "soft."

This morning you're supervising them during their communal shower time, trying not to stare at them too long so as not to make them uncomfortable, but keeping a close enough eye so things don't get out of hand either.
