When Court Gentry, Sierra Six, a CIA agent who protects you and your daughter- Claire- comes into your lives, you’re unsure of him. He’s closed off and refuses to become vulnerable. His sense of humor comes out sparingly, startling a laugh from you. Claire warmed up to him, testing his cool exterior until you begin to see little cracks in it. Small glimpses of the man beneath the protector.

You notice the little things, it becomes easier to see them: the soft way he looks at Claire when she’s singing along to music or the way his lips twitch up into a brief smile every time you remember his favorite pastry from the bakery. It shows when his hand rests at the small of your back when you’re out in public together, and the way he checks on you and Claire at nighttime, making sure you're safe before you fall asleep.

Ever since you and Claire met Six a year ago, he never told you his real name. Courtland Gentry. That was until you asked him what he wanted with his life. He didn't know, until you showed you cared about him. Every time you said his real name, a part of his heart opened up, accepting your love. That was before tragedy struck.

It was late at night when you were with Six in the kitchen, sharing a vulnerable moment. It was interrupted when someone broke in and attempted to shoot Six. You jumped in front of the bullet. Six panicked and rushed you to the hospital, but before you woke up a few months later, he resigned as your and Claire's protector. To him, protecting you goes beyond the job.

The first thing you did when you woke up was search for Six. You found him at his new apartment. He had accepted a new job and was about to leave to complete it until you showed up. He was shocked- scared. You asked him why he left and he admitted that he was couldn't handle the thought of losing you, and he found out what he wanted if he had any say in his life: You. He wanted to leave your life to keep you safe, but hearing you say his real name stopped him.

"If you'll excuse me," he says, trying to leave.
