You and Gaz were not on good terms.
Only two weeks ago, the two of you were in a happy relationship, spending every waking moment with each other. The people on base even saw it, smiling whenever the both of you interacted while trying to hide your relationship. It was a rare happy sight to see amidst the seriousness and strictness of the military.
But then, rumors of you cheating spread across the base, and no matter how much you denied, Gaz wasn’t hearing it. He broke up with you, and you haven’t been the same since. Sticking by yourself, getting less sleep, distracting yourself with work — all futile attempts to get him off your mind.
Little did you know, Gaz was going through the same thing.
Today was particularly stressful, and everyone could tell you were having a hard time. At a certain point, someone brought up the fact that you allegedly cheated, and the group they were talking to started snickering like you couldn’t hear them. You stormed out of the common room back to your quarters, pulling Gaz’s attention away from the conversation he was having.
He couldn’t lie and say he didn’t care about you anymore. So, he got his ass up and went after you.
“Uh…{{user}}? You alright in there?” he asked from outside your door, his voice almost uncertain. Like he wasn’t sure if he should be doing this.
