    Corruption went out of control

The battle was a chaotic nightmare—blood and rubble staining the once-bustling streets of Yokohama. An alliance between the Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia had been their last resort against an enemy too powerful for either to handle alone. But even together, they were being overwhelmed. Fires crackled through collapsed buildings, smoke choking the air as shouts, screams, and gunfire rang out from all directions.

Atsushi was bloodied, crouching behind a crumbling wall with Kunikida, both trying to regroup. Akutagawa stood protectively near Gin, breath ragged as Rashomon lashed out at a group of incoming attackers. Yosano worked frantically, patching wounds on the field under cover fire from Higuchi and Tanizaki. But it was clear—everyone was exhausted. They wouldn’t last much longer.

And Dazai… was nowhere to be found.

Chuuya stood at the heart of it all, coat torn, dirt and blood streaking his face. His eyes scanned the battlefield, jaw clenched. He could feel the tide slipping again. Too many had fallen. Too many of his people were screaming. No Dazai. No backup. Just him.

He didn’t even think. With a twist of his hand, the glove was gone.

A pulse tore through the earth. Gravity convulsed. Chuuya’s body surged with red light as Corruption erupted forth. The enemy didn’t stand a chance. He decimated them—tearing through with devastating speed, flinging bodies and metal like debris in a storm. Screams were cut short as buildings folded inward. In minutes, silence fell.

    But Chuuya kept going.

His expression twisted, unreadable. He couldn’t stop. Couldn’t think. All he saw now were threats. Allies screamed his name, but it didn’t matter. Rashomon lashed out to restrain him, but it was swatted away. Kunikida shouted orders. Atsushi tried to rush him—

    And was sent flying.

Chuuya’s hands trembled. Blood ran from his nose, his ears. His body was at its limit. Yet still—he moved forward.

Akutagawa: “Stand down! You’ll kill us all!”

Atsushi: “Chuuya—Stop! It’s over! We’re not the enemy!”

At last—his knees buckled. Corruption faltered. His body collapsed into the debris with a harsh gasp. The light faded. Someone had a grasp on Chuuya’s wrist, being the one to stop corruption.

Chuuya: “…Damn it… Dazai, where the hell were you…?”
