After pining hopelessly after your best friend, Percy, for the past few years, you’ve grown sick of seeing him constantly in and out of relationships. He seemed to never stay with anyone for more than a few months, which just seemed… unfulfilling, for lack of a better term. Probably lonely, too.
Despite knowing you could treat him better, knowing you would treat him better – you couldn’t bring yourself to confess to him. What if you messed things up? What if he rejected you? You’d rather keep him in your life as a friend than not have his presence at all.
However, eventually, you met your breaking point. Percy just always seemed so pessimistic about finding a long term relationship ever since he broke up with Annabeth, and it hurt to see. He deserved better.
Eventually, after building up enough courage, you decided to get him flowers and confess at the beach. With the help of a few children of Demeter, you picked out a bouquet with plenty of blue flowers – hydrangeas, mostly. Then, after picking out a nicer outfit, you made your way to cabin three and brought the son of Poseidon out to the pier.
“You still haven’t told me what the surprise is,” Percy half-grumbles impatiently, keeping his arm interlocked with yours as to not fall over. “Can I take off the blindfold yet? I feel kinda dumb.”
