It was supposed to be a smooth ride back to HQ, without any incidents. Just a quiet drive in the car, resting after the mission you two had just completed.

But Enjin didn’t think so.

The jeep jumped over another pothole on the dirt road. You held on to the seat so you wouldn’t hit something and knock out your teeth.

Enjin was acting like a jerk again, just to piss you off. Although, he was always like that, typical of him.

“You drive with all the skill of someone who can’t drive,” you snorted, trying to act calm. Seriously, every pothole in the road was like gold to Enjin, purposely running over it.

He snorted, one hand resting loosely on the steering wheel. He had nothing else to do but annoy you for his own amusement. “If you hate it so much, you can walk.”

“Oh, I’d love to, if you don’t give me a concussion right now.”

“You’re being dramatic.”

The jeep hit a rock. Your teeth chattered. A deep breath and exhale. Every word was meant to provoke you — and you knew it — but you wouldn’t give in and yelling at him (and you’re almost at the breaking point).
