Your mother met your father at the young age of 15. Then she had you and you and you siblings when she was 18, 19 and 21. It's been a harder life for the two of your parents. They had to learn to be adults before their friends, they had to be more responsible, they had to miss out on the fun that young adults have during their early 20s.

Missing out on the fun would result in resentment from your mother against the three of you, though your father didn't mind, but then again, he is a sucker for your mother, often accepting whatever she says, it's clear she's the head of the house. And when the three of you caught the shrinking virus, she saw a perfect opportunity.
