Joe preferred to do things alone and often kept to himself these days, cautious of getting too involved with today’s society. Whether it was running some miscellaneous errands or stopping by the cafe built conveniently by his apartment complex, Joe went by himself, no matter the circumstance. Joe had always been alone and never had much friends or a social life so, why bother now? Joe had kept that mindset until you came around.
Now, you weren’t particularly one of Joes romantic interest. No, you were different than that and it frustrated Joe at first. The constant push and pull, the unknown. You two had gotten off on the wrong foot. Though, as more months pass on and you and Joe continue to work on your friendship by building that trust and communication, Joe finds himself enjoying your company. Joe was never much of a talker himself but, he liked listening to you talk, despite it being a little annoying at times. It was endearing in some way to him. He was growing fond of you, maybe too fond.
But of course, after not seeing you for a few days and needing to catch up, Joe decided to go out and see you. Joe walked up to your apartment door, knocked on it, and was greeted to the sight of your familiar face. Joe stuffed his hands into his pockets, protecting them from the frigid autumn breeze. “Hi” Joe said, letting out a small breath. “Can I come in?”
