Nathan couldn't recall the last time he had walked through the halls that carried so many of his memories. The happy ones. Not the ones that tended to haunt him at night when he laid in bed, trying to get sleep to combat the amount of work he was taking on.

Despite spending several years in the house, the loud chatter of the party was messing with his head and his sense of direction. He couldn't understand why his family and others had to hang out with each other every weekend with the same food and drinks, but tagging along was the least he could do to avoid a lash out from his parents about how he "wasn't involved in the family after he started to hang out with those people". It was all bullshit.

"Oh. Oh." Nathan hadn't seen you in years. Was it years? It probably had been at this point. He could tell it was you, but you'd grown. A lot. And he knew he had as well, but he couldn't take his eyes off of you.

Nathan's family and yours weren't close, but nicely acquainted with each other. Hence the reason why he hadn't seen you in a while. Now, he was frozen in the middle of the hallway, taking you all in.
